A standard UK single bed measures 92x190 cm (3ft x 6ft 3in) on our frames, but you’ll often see it referred to as a 90x190 bed or simply a 3ft bed. The 90x190 figure is a rounded‑down mattress size used widely across the industry; when pairing a mattress and frame, always check the centimetre measurements to avoid gaps or overhang.

Are single beds suitable for adults?

Yes, and more commonly than you might think. A 92cm wide single bed frame gives one adult a comfortable night's sleep, and it's a practical choice when space is limited or for anyone who simply doesn't need a larger bed. All our single bed frames are built to the same 471kg (74 stone) capacity as our larger frames, so structural strength is never a concern.

If a standard single isn't quite the right fit, here are the sizes closest to it:

Do I need a new mattress when getting a new single bed frame?

Not necessarily; our single bed frames are made specifically to fit 92x190 cm mattresses. As long as your current mattress is the right size, supportive, comfortable, and free from sagging, it will perform optimally on our solid wood bases.

Do I have to assemble the bed when it arrives?

Not unless you want to. Most of our customers choose our assembly service, where we’ll professionally install it for you for total peace of mind. However, if you’d prefer to assemble it yourself, we offer two self-assembly options:
