Emperor low beds – Oversized yet grounded, these low-profile emperor beds sit closer to the floor to balance scale while maintaining a modern, minimalist feel.
Emperor standard height beds – The classic emperor bed frame configuration, offering generous proportions with practical under‑bed clearance.
Emperor platform beds – Clean-lined emperor bed frames with rigid slatted bases, removing the need for a divan while showcasing the natural beauty of solid timber.

Emperor attic beds – Lower-profile emperor beds designed for loft conversions and rooms with sloped ceilings, without compromising on mattress size.
Emperor floating beds – Crafted with recessed supports, these wooden emperor beds create a subtle hovering effect while maintaining exceptional stability.
Emperor Japanese beds – Ultra‑low emperor bed frames inspired by zen design, emphasising simplicity, proportion and natural timber grain.
Emperor Scandinavian style beds – Light, architectural emperor beds with clean lines and a pared-back aesthetic suited to contemporary interiors.
Emperor adjustable beds – Solid wood emperor bed frames engineered to house electric adjustable mechanisms without sacrificing structural integrity.
Emperor space saver beds – Slimline emperor bed frames designed with reduced external bulk, helping large mattresses fit comfortably within well‑planned rooms.
Reinforced centre support – An emperor bed frame spans a full 213cm width, so structural integrity matters. Our solid timber construction and reinforced centre supports ensure the frame remains stable, square and silent under significant weight.
Extra-thick solid wood slats – Our slats are twice as thick as the industry average which provides even mattress support across the full emperor bed dimensions, and helps to prevent sagging.
Mortise and tenon joinery – Traditional joints lock the frame tightly together, preventing movement over time. On a bed of this scale, precision joinery is essential to maintain long-term strength.
Naturally weighty and grounded – A solid wooden emperor bed frame has reassuring mass. The density of solid hardwood reduces flex and eliminates the creaks often found in lighter, oversized frames.
Measure your room wall-to-wall, not just the bed – An emperor bed frame is 213cm x 213cm, but you need at least 4m x 4m of total floor space to allow for bedside tables, wardrobes, and comfortable circulation around the bed.
Allow for mattress weight and handling – Emperor mattresses are heavy and awkward to manoeuvre alone. Plan for two people if you need to move the bed or when rotating the mattress.
Plan for central support – At this width, proper centre support is essential. Make sure the floor beneath is level and solid to keep the frame perfectly aligned.
Balance the scale of the room – Emperor beds work best in larger bedrooms. Pair with proportionate bedside tables and lighting so the bed feels intentional rather than overwhelming.

Who should choose an emperor size bed?
An emperor bed is ideal for:
Taller sleepers who need additional length and width
Couples who prefer generous personal space
Family co-sleeping arrangements
Large master bedrooms where the bed acts as a central design feature
Do I need a new mattress when getting a new emperor bed frame?
Not necessarily; our emperor bed frames are made to fit standard UK mattress dimensions. As long as your current mattress is supportive, comfortable, and free from sagging, it will perform optimally on our solid wood bases.
Do I have to assemble the bed when it arrives?
Not unless you want to. Most of our customers choose our assembly service, where we’ll professionally install it for you for total peace of mind. However, if you’d prefer to assemble it yourself, we offer two self-assembly options:
Room of Choice Delivery: we’ll deliver your bed to the room you choose, ready for you to assemble using our clear, easy-to-follow instructions
Standard Delivery: delivered to your front door for self-assembly
What’s the difference between an emperor and super emperor bed?
Both beds are both 7ft (or 213cm) long but the super emperor is wider. A standard emperor bed is 7ft x 7ft (213cm x 213cm), with a super emperor bed standing at 7ft 6 x 7ft (230cm x 213cm).
Is an emperor bed too big for most UK bedrooms?
Honestly, yes. Most UK primary bedrooms are around 3.5m x 4m, which makes an emperor bed tight. If your room is smaller than 4m x 4m, you'll likely feel the space is dominated by the bed.
Emperor beds work best in larger period properties, loft conversions with open floor plans, or purpose-built primary suites. If you're unsure, measure your room carefully and consider whether you're willing to prioritise sleeping space over other furniture.
